Toyota Tacoma 2012-15 Winch Mount
Toyota Tacoma 2012-15 Winch Mount
Total add-ons:
Do you want to add a winch but not a full replacement bumper to your Tacoma? You are not alone. Full replacement bumpers are 100-150+ lbs, force suspension upgrades and are expensive. Keep your stock bumper cover, factory looks and your MPG with the installation of this winch mount within and behind the stock bumper cover.
Be sure to add a winch, lights and shackles to your order!
Please keep in mind that if you select a winch and need everything shipped outside of the lower 48 states there could be additional shipping charges. Contact us to verify shipping charges if that is the case.
- Designed and built in Texas!
- CNC Laser cut – clean and precise
- 1″ wide shackle mounts are drilled .900″ ID for .875″ OD or smaller pins which is common for a 3/4″ shackle. Pin sizes can vary, especially Chinese made shackles. We offer quality Van Beest shackles which will fit our shackle mounts.
- Mounting ear reinforcement plates for maximum clamping force.
- Lighter than most aftermarket bumpers at 69 lbs.
- Built to last. Winch tubs are .250″ steel with a .125″ fascia for a total of .375″ of protection up front!
- Full height front and rear winch tub with ample drainage.
- Reinforced lower fascia with 7 gussets, adds bashplate protection up front.
- Will accept most winches with industry standard 10″ x 4.5″ bolt pattern.
- Works with either roller fairleads or synthetic style hawse.
- Light tabs to accommodate most cube style (3″) lights such as our Sirius Pro Series LED’s.
We offer powder coating in black and silver in a very durable textured powder coat. If you order powder coat then we media blast and shoot one coat of zinc primer then two or more coats of powder. Please keep in mind that even though we go to great lengths to protect the coating we are not responsible for shipping damage to any coatings.
Expect a 7-10 business day delay in shipping if you want your winch mount coated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the winch mount come with winch, fairlead/hawse or shackles?
No it does not. Bare steel winch mount only (unless you select powder coat).
Optional shackles and lights can be added to your order.
Fairleads and hawse typically come with a winch, we sell these as well.
Do you ship outside of the United States? If so, how much is shipping?
Yes, we ship Internationally. Just add what you want to the Cart and obtain a shipping quote there.
How much does it cost to ship domestically?
We ship our Winch Mounts via UPS here in the 48 states and Canada.
Add the product to your cart then go to your cart, there you will be given an opportunity to receive a shipping quote based on your address.
Which winches fit this mount?
Just about any winch will work as the Tacoma has plenty of room. Read the winch fitment technical article above for a more in depth answer.
The mount uses a standard 10" x 4.5" bolt pattern so any winch will fit and there is plenty of room in the mount itself.
The rare issue is the bracing with the hood release behind the grille and above the winch.
Read the installation docs above for more information.
What winch rating do you suggest for this application?
That is a big question. Unless you drive an FJ40 or a CJ/TJ you better go with 9000 lbs or larger.
Read the Winch Selection article above for more insight.
Does the front end need to be lifted after installing this mount and a winch?
Short answer is maybe. Read our Suspension article above for more information.
Typically you will see a 3/8" to 1/2" drop by adding the mount (57lbs) and a winch (75-90lbs).
This is still a much lighter alternative to a full bumper replacement (75-150lbs without a winch!). In our testing we noticed no difference in how a Tacoma drove after installation on a stock vehicle.
Having said that, because the Tacoma comes from the factory with some rake (front lower than rear) it wouldn't hurt to lift it a bit to level things out. Read this article about using the Bilstein adjustable shocks to achieve a more level stance and much better ride vs stock for a reasonable price.
How hard is it to install?
Not really hard at all. It takes more time to prep and paint/coat the mount than it does to install (we suggest our optional powder coating).
Figure 3 - 6 hours depending on the equipment you are installing (just the winch mount, winch, lights, etc?) your abilities and how big of a hurry you are in.
You can read the install docs above and watch our customer supplied install videos for more info.
Will this work with suspension and body lifts?
Our bumpers work fine with any suspension lifts but will NOT work with body lifts as our bumper needs to line up with the bodywork but attaches to the frame. A body lift moves the bodywork in relationship to the frame.

This winch mount installation was very straightforward, an easy two man job, and fits very well. Clean, sleek look that adds utility without sacrificing the "OEM look"
Solid & strong, excellent quality welds. Fit perfectly with no drama or disappointments. Great product that let me add capability to my truck without making it look obnoxious or over the top like so many other options out there. The only thing I would change is that I didn't order it already powder coated because I thought I could get it done cheaper myself. In the end, I cost myself time & money. What they are charging for the powder coating is a good value.
Great product. Easy install with great instructions
Well engineered product. Welds are super solid. Extra gussets make for extra stout feel. Straightforward install. Took a few hours alone. Directions are well written, and illustrated.
Sits in a little further than some of the competitors, and I feel it looks closer to ‘factory.‘ Paired with a Superwinch SX10S, I’m one happy camper.
Nice solid winch mount. Good, clean welds. The final product looks very nice, as if it came from the factory like that. My only issue is that I had to weld on some additional brackets to relocate my solenoid due to having an aftermarket transmission cooler in the center of the grille, but that's entirely my fault :-)
